The National Museum of Archeology and Ethnology was established on an area of 3,500 square meters in order to protect and disseminate the most important collection of artifacts of the Mayan culture. It includes huge stone carvings, paintings from the classical period, animal representations from the pre-classical period, wooden samples from some temples, folk costumes, masks and collectibles that illustrate the cultural diversity in Guatemala and others.
