Information about Muzeul de Vanatoare "August von Spiess"
The museum bears the name of one of Sibiu's most important figures at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century: Colonel Augustus von of the Royal House of Romania, who lived during the reign of King Ferdinand I. Opened in 1966, the museum was the first of its kind nationwide, and the site was donated by the Colonel's daughters. The collection on display at the museum includes about 1,600 objects from the colonel's total hunting grounds. Behind the building there is a courtyard designed for outdoor relaxation and for eco-education sessions for pupils.
