The Perast City Museum was established by the Perast City Council in 1937 to display the collection collected from the donations of the heirs of the famous Montenegrin families during the second half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Several important permanent collections, such as the esoteric, maritime, economic and cultural collections of Perast during the rule of the Venetian Republic 1420-1797 and Austro-Hungarian rule during the nineteenth century.
