The Podlasie Museum is located in the City Hall building on the Old Market Square. It is one of the largest and most distinguished museums of the city, attracting a good number of tourists to the city every year. The establishment of this museum was primarily intended to emphasize the importance of regional history and local art. It houses a large collection of ethnographic archaeological treasures and an exhibition dedicated to Polish painting (from the end of the eighteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century); The paintings are over 250 years old.
