Information about Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities
The Museum of Far Eastern Archeology is located in Stockholm, Sweden. It was launched by the Swedish Parliament in 1926 with Swedish archaeologist Johan Gunnar Andersson as founding director. The museum was originally based mainly on Andersson's pioneering discoveries in China during the 1920s that were unknown until prehistoric times in East Asia. Today, the museum houses extensive collections from Japan, Korea and India, displaying both antiquities, classical arts, and contemporary culture. It contains a large research library open to the public, and the museum publishes an annual journal focusing on research on ancient East Asia.
