The collections of the Costa Rican Museum of Art are distributed in its outer courtyards and in its historic inner building, which was formerly a main station. It focuses on the heritage of local national art and foreign artwork. It also consists of about 6,000 pieces and an outstanding work by well-known artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It includes paintings, wood carvings, photographs, and various statues, among others.
