Information about Museum-Memorial of Deportation
During the Nazi occupation of Luxembourg (May 1940 - September 1944), the train station in Hollirich was one of the main gathering sites and departure points for young Luxembourgians forced to join the German Labor Service ("RAD") and the German army, and thousands of unsupported Luxembourgians were deported. Politically from Holerich, a portion of the Jews who lived in Luxembourg were loaded onto trains only hundreds of meters from this point and deported to ghettos or death camps. Today, the train station in Hollirich is dedicated to commemorating the Luxembourgians who were forced into the German army, as well as the deported Jews who were victims of the Nazi regime.
