The institutional mission of Museo da Apolisão is to preserve, research, assess, disseminate and expose Afro-Brazilian memory and culture, and its main objectives are to promote critical thinking in the participation of Africans and their descendants in history and the formation of national identity, therefore, the range of events and activities implemented by the Museum seek to present culture, entertainment and education to its various audiences by assessing the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Afro-Brazilian population.
