The Museum of Resistance and Freedom is dedicated to recounting and preserving the history and memories of the struggle against dictatorship and the recognition of resistance, freedom and democracy. It is classified as a historical museum that intends and aims to bridge the gap in the Portuguese history of this era, and also aims to implant the principles of memory of the struggle against the dictatorship in the Portuguese citizens. This museum explains to the whole world about the dictatorial regime that ruled the country between 1926 and 1974.
