Information about Museo Rifugi Antiaerei
On 15 June 2014, the 150th anniversary of the Italian Red Cross, the site of the Air Raid Shelter Museum in Como was opened, located in the basement of the Red Cross building, where an anti-aircraft shelter can be visited . A 1936 Royal Decree issued “An anti-aircraft shelter in every building for the use of apartment buildings newly built or under construction on the date on which the decree itself came into force.” Accordingly, the building of the Red Cross was born with an anti-aircraft shelter, which was built according to the indications of the legislation of that time. It was a collective shelter designed to house Red Cross health workers, which housed the emergency response team in the event of an air attack.
