Housed in the Museum of History and Anthropology (MHA) in Valle de Guaira, Casa de Carta is a great example of manor houses built in the Canary Islands in the 18th century. Although it originally belonged to the de la Guaira family, it was acquired in 1726 by Captain Matías Rodríguez Carta, from which it takes its present name, and opened as a museum in 1987.
