Information about Museo de America
This national museum houses 25,000 pieces of art and historical artifacts from the American continent. In addition to the stricken heads displayed there, it appears that the Native Americans were using dead human heads as amulets. The museum is located far from downtown Madrid, near the bus complex, and close to competitors such as the Museum of Ethnography. The museum was established in 1941, but it should be noted that many of the pieces on display date back to the foundation of the exhibition. This museum seeks to collect collections of pieces and information related to American archeology and ethnology, with the aim of displaying them in attractive and understandable ways, to make this knowledge available to the public, rather than being the preserve of scholars and researchers.
