Information about Cirta Museum
The Archeology Museum of Constantine was established at the initiative of the Antiquities Association of Constantine, which was founded in 1852 by Messrs. Crowley, Ronnie, and Charbono, and thanks to these gentlemen for preserving the monuments and monuments that express the history of the city and the region. The museum opened its doors to the public on April 15, 1931, under the name Qustav Maris Museum, which is the Secretary General of the Antiquities Association. And in the year 1986, the museum was attached to the degree of national museums, and the National Museum became Cirta Constantine. This museum was built on an area of 2,100 square meters, including 1,200 square meters of the building, and 900 square meters of the garden. Archaeological collections have also been obtained thanks to donations from excavations, or prudent discoveries in the eastern section. These groups were divided into two parts: the archaeological section, which includes thousands of rooms, some of which are displayed in twelve rooms, according to chronological order, and the other part is preserved in reserves, providing the visitor with an overview of history from prehistoric times to the present day. and the Fine Arts Department, which displays watercolors, sculptures, and other works of art.
