The museum, which opened in 1982, is located in Nice and displays works from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century and presents the history of satirical art from that time until today through a donation by Anatole Jakovsky (an artist critical of French art). Works in the museum include paintings, sculptures, drawings and posters by painters such as Henri Rousseau, Louis Serafin, Grandma Moses, Obrady, Rembert, Ivan, Josep General, Buchant, Vivigne, Lakovich, Legaboy, Hadelissi, Vivancus, and others.
