The Gdansk Murals is a large-scale gallery of paintings in the open air, consisting of 60 large-scale murals painted in the settlement of Zaspa; The group incorporates other related activities, the Grand Art Festival and the Danske School of Murals. The first 10 pieces in the collection were painted in 1997 during the festival organized to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the city of Gdansk, and in 2009 the exhibition expanded to include 38 new pieces drawn by famous artists from all over the world. This art group is also representative of the inhabitants of Zaspa, providing information regarding the history of the settlement, local legends, and the stories behind the creation of the murals.
