This archaeological site is one of two possible sites in Jordan for the site where it is assumed that Moses struck the rock with his group so that the water would flow to the thirsty Israelites, the other site is probably located near Mount Nebo. The water of this spring still flows, but it is now located in a simple modern three-domed building that local pilgrims sometimes visit. The site is located near the Kings Way Hotel, at the main intersection in Wadi Musa from the north.
