Information about Mount Meron
Al-Jarmaq Mountain is the highest mountain in the country and is located in the northwest of Galilee, and its height is 1208 meters. The Arabic name for the mountain "Al-Jarmaq" goes back to the Al-Jarmaq, and they are an Arab tribe who left their homes in Yemen and settled north of historic Palestine and southern Lebanon. As for the Hebrew name Har Meron, which means Mount Meron, it is believed that it was taken from the name of the ancient Canaanite city Merom or Meromah, the site where Joshua triumphed over the Canaanite kings. The mountain extends over an area of 28,000 acres, covered with green spaces and many rare species of trees.
