Information about Mortuary Temple of Seti I
The Temple of Seti I is the memorial temple of the modern state pharaoh Seti I. The edifice is located in the Thebes cemetery in Upper Egypt, across the Nile from the modern city of Luxor (Thebes), near the city of Qurna. It appears that the temple was built at the end of Seti's reign, and was probably completed by his son Ramses the Great after his death. One of the temple rooms contains a shrine dedicated to the father of Seti Ramses I. The temple complex was originally surrounded by a wall 124 meters wide and 162 meters long, made of Nile mud bricks, and perhaps 10.50 meters high, cut by several towers. The entrance to the temple was from the east through the first great edifice.
