The monument to Jacob Kolas was erected in 1972, on the ninetieth anniversary of his birth, in the square named after him in the city center of Minsk. The monument consists of three sculptural groups: in the center, the beloved Belarusian poet Yakub Kolas is seated in a thoughtful pose, and on either side are his literary heroes who were his students. The monument is located in a small garden planted with slender white birch trees and blue flowers, which makes it look great at any time of the year. On both sides of the monument there are small fountains.
