Information about Monument to Orange
The Orange Monument tells the strange tale and urban legend that saved Odessa when Russian Emperor Paul I of Russia refused to provide funding for the city. It is said that in the eighteenth century AD the Odessites decided to make an extravagant and unexpected gift to the emperor, so they sent him 4,000 of the best imported Greek oranges, and he loved them so much (he had never tasted them before) that he renewed the city's finances and built the great trading port; Don't hesitate to visit this metal monument, which is decorated with horse carriages and is topped by a group of prominent city buildings.
