This wonderful theater is located in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. It was initially established in 1953 as a city theatre, under the name Titograd National Theatre. The initial idea was to form a powerful theater that would meet all the requirements and assumptions of the National Theatre. And only in 1969 it was given the name of the National Theatre. The Montenegrin National Theater initially gathered all the outstanding actors from the Montenegrin theater region. Thus the Formed Theatre, the only professional theater committed to recognizing national drama, was formed with very serious commissions to stage performances and participate in tours.
