Information about Jerónimos Monastery
The construction of Los Hieronymos Monastery began around 1702, to replace the primitive and small monastery, and was built on a small hill overlooking the city and the grove of Murcia. The work was designed and managed by the architect and monk Jerónimo fray Antonio de San José (jerónimo fray Antonio de San José). The monastic complex is known as Escorial Murciano and currently houses the buildings of the Catholic University of San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM).
