The Mississippi Museum of Civil Rights was established in 2017 and is considered the first state-run civil rights museum in the United States of America. It gives the public an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the American civil movement in Mississippi, especially in the period between 1945-1970, through a group of holdings and documents dating back to that period.
