Miskolc Zoo was opened in August 1983, and it is located in an oak forest belonging to the Bük National Park, with an area of 21 hectares, and offers many types of plants and animals scattered in the Bük Mountains. It is considered the oldest zoo in Hungary, and includes about 700 animals of about 130 species. Visitors can explore exotic animals from distant continents and local pets that have become the focus of tourists nowadays, and this zoo seeks to spread awareness among all ages about animal protection and the environment.
