One of the most famous tourist attractions in Cairo, which was established in 1949 during the reign of King Farouk, is the 50-acre Maryland Park. It is considered one of the most beautiful green spaces in the city, where the small grass covers most of the garden area, in addition to the presence of a water fountain in the middle in the form of an arch. There is also a designated area that includes comfortable seating of shaded wooden benches, and stone-paved walking and jogging paths are distributed throughout the garden, which permeate the basins of plants and tall trees.
