Comprising a splendid 400-meter-long walkway under the quayside, the Abolition of Slavery Monument honors all who fought and still struggles against slavery in all its forms around the world, and features 2,000 commemorative plaques referring to the ships that left Nantes on slave trade voyages and African trading posts The American Home, and under the quayside, a 90-meter underground passage evokes the captives in the ships' holds, prompting visitors to reflect on the fight for the abolition of slavery and the modern form it takes today.
