The Mille Art Institute was established in 1990 to serve as an art house that presents and discusses the ideas and artworks of various artists. The institute was named after the artist Ken Lum’s billboard, titled “Mili Shum Hates Her Job” and has been installed on the facade of the building ever since. The Institute offers a collection of renewable art exhibitions throughout the year that tourists can visit. It also includes an archive documenting the history of the institution since 1990 and contains a collection of photos, documents, and audio-visual materials.
