Melisani Cave is a unique tourist point for nature lovers and one of the most beautiful natural wonders not only in the island of Kefalonia but in the whole of Greece, as it was formed through a unique geological phenomenon of groundwater that was permeating limestone rocks and creating cavities inside, 3.5 km long, 40 m wide and high 36, and the turquoise blue water gathers at the bottom of the cave in the form of a lake and is toured by small row boats, and in order to reach it, visitors must walk in an underground tunnel. The beauty of the cave is reflected in the ability to see the sky directly and enjoy the view of the sparkling water when the sun’s rays reflect on it, as the ceiling of the cave has collapsed, revealing an enchanting beauty that catches the eye.
