The Cathedral of Mary Queen of the World, this well-known ornate church, is located in downtown Montreal and is the seat of the city's Roman Catholic Archdiocese, and is the city's only archaeological religious model. The church has a distinctive design, where the facade of the cathedral is surmounted by statues representing the patron saints of the city's 13 dioceses, and inside the cathedral is equally magnificent, with aisles and arches containing paintings depicting Montreal's early history.
