Marmaris Museum is one of the most famous museums in Marmaris. The museum is located on the site of the beautiful Marmaris Castle, in the old town of Marmaris, on the hills behind the Marmaris Marina. After the restoration of the castle during the years 1980-1990, the area began to operate as a museum in 1991. Marmaris Castle and Museum includes seven interior areas. Two of them are organized as an archeology hall and one of them is organized as an ethnography hall. The remaining areas are used as art galleries and storage.
