Perched on a hill above the Mimming Plateau and high in the Intal Valley, the great Maria Lucherboden has been a beacon for pilgrims, hikers and visitors for centuries. Thanks to the cave-like entrance site, an underground gallery replete with miracles dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, the site soon became a place of pilgrimage. Later, a neo-Gothic church was erected on this site to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims from Austria and from all over the world. The most distinctive feature of this church is that it is located among the charming natural areas between mountains and valleys, which looks like a unique painting.
