Information about Manuc's Inn
The Manoc's Inn was Bucharest's oldest working hotel, and housed a famous restaurant, a café, and several shops. Its huge multi-balcony courtyard has hosted many performances and exhibitions throughout history, and was a popular place for Romanian television to film folklore programmes. Built in 1808, the inn was originally owned by the wealthy and illustrious Armenian businessman Emanuel Mârzaian also known by his Turkish name Manuc-bei, and by the mid-19th century, it was the most important shopping complex in Bucharest, with 15 wholesalers, 23 retail stores, 107 office or living rooms, reception facilities and a pub, can be visited today to feel the aroma of history in all its corners.
