Manila American Cemetery covers an area of 152 acres, and contains the largest number of graves of American soldiers killed during World War II, with 17,206 graves; The tombstones are lined up in 11 plots of land that form a generally circular pattern, and are located among a variety of tropical trees and shrubs.
