Hidden behind the Santa Cruz Church on Olympio Nicolau Roy Fernandez Street in the center of Coimbra, the Manga Monastery has a yellow Renaissance-style structure consisting of a central fountain topped by a dome and four chapels in the form of towers and aqueducts with small fountains. It is full of Christian symbolism. It represents the fountain of life and the four rivers that flow from the Garden of Eden.
