It is the central public square in Krakow and is the largest square from the medieval period in Europe. It contains many cafes, restaurants, clothing and jewelry stores, and also includes the Church of St. Mary, which is characterized by its wooden niche, built in the Gothic style of red bricks in the fourteenth century AD. In the middle of the square is the newly renovated old market building and contains an ideal bazaar for acquiring souvenirs.
