Information about Madou Daitian Temple
Madu Ditian Temple is the Wanji Temple that houses the largest group of devotees and deities in Tainan City. The goddesses Li, Chi, Wu, Chu and Fan Shen Suis are worshiped in the temple, thus, it is also called Wu Wang Temple (Temple of the Five Gods). The temple was built in the 17th century, when a temple ship floated ashore. The temple contains delicate carvings and paintings, and the edge of the roof was covered with colored glazed tiles. In the back garden, there is a giant statue of a Chinese dragon, 76 meters long and 7 meters high. It was built in 1979. Inside the dragon, tourists can find places of heaven, hell and the underwater world.
