Madaba Archaeological Park is an open air museum with some large, beautiful and intricate mosaics from the Byzantine era. It is located in downtown Madaba just a short walk from other sites such as St. George's Church and John the Baptist Church. Some large mosaics are preserved in place and are the best part of this park. Lots of mosaics are cut out of place and displayed on frames. There is also a mosaic school nearby. Mosaics, ancient remains of the Byzantine road, sanctuaries and more can be seen in this amazing archaeological place.
