The Villacross Pass is one of Bucharest's most prominent symbols. It is a yellow glass-covered walkway in the center of the city. In the late 1880s the city decided to purchase sites to build a Western-style walkway to ease congestion. It was designed by the architect Felix Zenopol ( Felix Xenopol) and today it houses many luxury shops and antique buildings that make the place a major archaeological landmark.
