Information about Luxembourg Gardens
The Luxembourg Gardens or Luxembourg Gardens are located on the border between Saint-Germain-des-Pres and the Latin Quarter and are inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence. It was established on the initiative of Queen Marie de Medici in 1612 and covers 25 hectares of land. The gardens are divided into French gardens and English gardens, between the two there is a forest and a large pond, as well as an array of stunning orchids and a rose garden. The park includes 106 statues scattered throughout the park and the huge Medici Fountain. There are many activities and facilities for children such as toys and slides, and adults - whether Parisians or tourists - can play chess and tennis. Feel free to visit these gardens which are now one of the most popular destinations in Paris.
