Lubnik is located 1,025 meters above sea level and rises steeply above the entrance to the Silska Sora Valley. It lies only a few kilometers west of Škofja Loka, and is the highest of its hilltops, making it a natural barrier protecting the city. From the west wind, visitors come to this place to climb and walk, and at the top there is a small hut built in 1932 as a refuge for climbers by the Skovia Luka Mountaineering Association, and contains an automatic defibrillator.
