The Lotus Temple is located in the Indian city of New Delhi, and is considered one of the most important shrines of dhikr, which are Baha'i houses of worship dedicated to the remembrance of God. It takes the form of a lotus flower, hence the name, and the building is surrounded by a group of landscaped gardens, along with nine water basins bordered by pathways of red sandstone. Like all Baha'i houses of worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all, regardless of religion.
