The Municipal Museum is located in the center of Herceg Novi, and is originally the home of the former mayor of the city, Mirko Komnenovic. The house was built in the Baroque style, the layout was changed in the 19th century, and at the bottom of its small balcony there is a door engraved with the names of Russian soldiers from 1807 Today, the museum preserves a historical, archaeological and ethnological collection and a collection of interesting icons, as well as displaying the works of the iconic Boca Kotorska school that highlight the influence of Byzantine art, while the historical collection traces the history of Herceg Novi and the surrounding region from the founding of the city in 1382 until the end of World War II through Documents, stone plastics, weapons, photographs and other artifacts.
