The rock carving of the Bavarian lion has great historical and tourist importance, as the size of the huge lion sleeping in the middle of the mountain, overlooking the city of Naviglio from the top, attracts tourists to approach it and explore it closely. This lion is one of the first contemporary sculptures found in modern Greece and was built in honor of the Bavarian soldiers who died of a typhoid epidemic while in Naviglio.
