The Leventis Museum is the only museum in the capital, Nicosia, that displays the social and historical development of the city, from the ancient era to the present day. Founded in 1984, and named after the donor, today the museum is run by the city council. The collection on display includes: traditional costumes, photographs, medieval pottery, maps, engravings, jewelry and furniture. In addition, it offers vast spaces for temporary exhibitions of artists and institutions from Cyprus and abroad.
