Las Palomas Cave is an exceptional volcanic tube formed in 1949 when ash from the San Juan volcano buried parts of the best farmland in the area, leaving an expansive land in which many volcanic tubes were formed. This tube is about 500 meters long and more or less than 3 meters wide. Its height is between 1 and 6 meters, making it a distinctive tourist destination on the island of La Palma.
