One of the most famous and oldest monuments in Dubrovnik is Onofrio's large circular fountain. It was built in 1438 as part of the town's water supply system, as it was brought from a spring about 12 kilometers away, and was originally decorated with many distinctive carvings and decorations, but it was damaged severely as a result of an earthquake that occurred in 1667, and visitors from all over visit it to explore this archaeological landmark witnessing many events and eras of time.
