The Lama Temple is one of the most famous temples in Beijing. It was built in 1694 AD during the Qing Dynasty as a Buddhist temple. It extends over a large area of more than 60,000 square meters. It is sometimes called the Palace of Harmony and Peace. It consists of 4 main halls that tourists can visit and learn about. On its most important features, it also contains many hand-carved Buddhist statues.
