Lake Schwerin is located in the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, named after the city of Schwerin on its southwestern shore. It is a large lake with a surface area of about 61.54 square kilometers (23.76 square miles), and a maximum depth of 52.4 meters (172 feet). The lake is characterized by its turquoise waters and the picturesque natural features surrounding it of green spaces planted with dense lush trees, along with many historical and archaeological buildings surrounding it.
