Lake Tonga is made up of two small lakes, Lake El Mellah and Lake Opera. The ecosystem in Lake Tonga consists of open water surrounded by various plants such as reeds and willows, and there are trees floating in the water in the lakes that you will not find anywhere else in the world. There are more than 82 species of plants in and around this lake, including 32 endangered species. There are also different animal species in Lake Tonga in terms of shape, habitat and size, the most prominent of which is the pink flamingo that comes from Kenya to spend the winter in Algeria every year.
