La Asumada Castle is an ancient fortress located in a strategic location near the El Palmar area in the city of Murcia, at the top of the well-known port of La Cadena at an altitude of 532 meters. The building, which is of Arab origin, was built around the twelfth century. Designed as a strategic building to control the space and communications between the coast and the interior, the castle was declared a site of cultural significance in 1985.
